We offer work for accommodation and meals throughout the year to travelers to New Zealand. The work is physically demanding and requires dedication, but offers many and varied rewards. Most of our helpers get to ride regularly and get lessons depending on the length of stay. If you are experienced with horses we can offer some excellent riding opportunities and some of our helpers have even competed with certain horses. Although some experience is preferable we will take people with no previous experience as long as the have the right attitude and are willing to learn and put in an effort. We treat all our exchange helpers as part of the family and all meals are eaten together with the owners since we all need to work as a team.

Japanese Interpreter/Horse Trek Guide

Sadly Yoko has left us to return to Japan.  Yoko has been a major part of our business for many years now, she was our very first Japanese exchange worker and our very first Japanese employee.  Yoko's contribution to our team has been brilliant and so many of our Japanese clients have been both relieved and excited to have a Japanese guide as their English has not been the best.  She has also helped by translating important safety information for both clients and other exchange workers, not to mention helping them find their way around and how we operate.  We wish you every success in the future Yoko and we will miss you dearly!

Consequently, we are starting our search for a new employee.  Yoko may not be a very big person but she is leaving very large shoes to fill!  This is a full time position which can include accomodation and meals starting in August 2010.  The successful person will need to be fluent in both Japanese and English as well as being a competent horse person and rider. They will also need to be able to work in a team environment and enjoy meeting people from various different cultures and countries. 

The work we do is physically demanding but also incredibly rewarding.  We offer the right person the opportunity to attain NZQA unit standards and Qualifications through workplace instruction and assessment.
